I\u2019ve liked the ideas of Jeremy Blake\u2019s work for some time and his exploration of \u201ctime-based paintings\u201d and digital video DVD layered animations, having felt something similar in my own experiments and visual thinking. So I was excited to see his first work in person at SFMOMA here. The show took up much of one floor and was divided into separate rooms. I was drawn to the visual effects and thought his technique was very specific and stylized, but I didn\u2019t connect right away to the content or the pacing. I\u2019ll have to go back and try it again.<\/p>\n
