Mike Arrington’s TechCrunch 5 party<\/a> for Shel Israel<\/a> and Robert Scoble’s<\/a> new book, Naked Conversations<\/em><\/a>, was a big success on Friday night in Atherton, CA. Some 400 people showed up at Mike’s house to mingle, hang out, congratulate Shel and Robert, and generally celebrate amidst a great crowd of techies, bloggers, entrepreneurs, tech giants, thought leaders, startups, designers, developers, photographers, and even Douglas Engelbart<\/a>, the creator of the mouse.

\nMax<\/a> and I had a great time seeing friends and familiar faces (Mike Arrington<\/a>, Dion Hinchliffe<\/a> and partner, Kate Allen, Chris Smoak<\/a>, Deb Schultz<\/a>, Mary Hodder<\/a>, Auren Hoffman<\/a>, Mike Sigal, Kevin Werbach<\/a>). I enjoyed meeting Richard Lusk and Oliver Starr of Foldera<\/a> and some of the people behind my favorite sites (Susan Mernit<\/a>, John Furrier of Podtech<\/a>), people whose sites are in my referrers (Gabe Rivera of tech.memeorandum<\/a>, Brian Oberkirch of Like It Matters<\/a>), people I’ve been emailing with for the last few months (Stowe Boyd<\/a>, Chris Messina<\/a>) and of course, people from apps in eHub (Michael Tanne from Wink<\/a>, Justin from Standpoint<\/a>, Shadows<\/a>, Pete Flint from Trulia<\/a>, Box.net<\/a>, Zazzle<\/a>).

I finally got to meet everyone in person that i\u2019ve been emailing over the past few months – 18 of the companies presenting at our under the radar conference were there, and a bunch of the speakers as well.
