An algorithm can create 40,000 logo shapes in 12 different color combinations, providing the Media Lab an estimated 25 years’ worth of personalized business cards.

Great video — thanks for posting it. There’s a tremendous amount of potential in the bridging of the gap between art/design and science/technology. Combining an algorithm and a logo design is an excellent example of this. The fact that a variation of the logo can be generated for each student, staff member and faculty member is a really unique idea — and the logo looks great in each configuration. Science and technology is definitely taking art and design in exciting new directions. I would love to see more examples of this type of hybrid design process. Brilliant.
