Jeremy Blake at SFMoMA
I’ve liked the ideas of Jeremy Blake’s work for some time and his exploration of “time-based paintings” and digital video DVD layered animations, having felt something similar in my own experiments and visual thinking. So I was excited to see his first work in person at SFMOMA here. The show took up much of one floor and was divided into separate rooms. I was drawn to the visual effects and thought his technique was very specific and stylized, but I didn’t connect right away to the content or the pacing. I’ll have to go back and try it again.
